"Mom I am home"..
"So what" She shouted back "do u want a red carpet to enter house, now??”
"I heard your results are out" she said with a look on her face which she tried to cover-up.
"What!!" I bounced surprised and ran outside to the nearest Internet cafe.
Hope I get a first class I thought in my mind.
Never before I felt that the cafe was so far away from my house, as every time I went there was to play
games or just waste time on some stupid networking sites.
just outside the main door of the cafe i saw a small crowd, all students, waiting for the few golden
numbers they wanted so desperately so that they could flaunt it on their resumes or run away before
anyone sees it.
Everyone shouting their seat no. to the person sitting on the computer, who was going insane with the
increasing intensity of the crowd
"I got a distinction" one guy shouted out loud.
"i failed for the second time" another guy blurted.
"God please u answered all my prayers till now, one more time" I was praying with my eyes closed,
it was the same prayer i said before my university exams had began, a life changing exam, which could
Make you a call-center employee to a manager of a company.
For a few moments I was dreaming about the leather chair and the cabin i was sitting in, dressed just as
another manager of another big firm.
i was awaken by the person sitting on the computer
"Hey! Stop day dreaming and tell me ur seat no., there are others waiting in line" he shouted.
As he entered the no. I was silently praying,
I opened my eyed and the webpage was still loading, I was lost in thought once again, I remembered my
12th result, i had the same amount of excitement and fear, it was almost the same this time ....because this time it was only fear...The fear of losing my career and working in a call center
The fear went away as the guy standing behind me tapped my shoulder and said smiling "congrats dude!!"
I looked into the monitor and saw the magic number in amazement, 75, 80, 69, 82...no I didn’t Top the
University, but I was a topper in my heart, never before in my life had I got a distinction…I had got my magic Numbers.
